he Twenty Third Psalm

A Study Guide
by Hal Upchurch

Across 56 years, from 1939 to 1995, I accumulated multiplied-hundreds of notes, references, clippings and outlines of the countless devotionals, Bible studies, pastor's conferences, Wednesday night services, worship services, revival services, wedding services, commemorative services, funeral services, graveside services, Thanksgiving services, and times of personal and private meditations and reflections connected with and based upon the twenty third psalm.

Within the pages of this little booklet you will find a condensation of my 77-year relationship with the twenty third psalm as I have endeavored to express it in public sermons and teachings, and in private meditations and reflections. An example of my condensations may be found in Study #12, under the heading of: "A bird's-eye view of Psalm 23;" where I condensed 15 sermons in 15 brief lines and statements.

If my little booklet should fall into your hands, and if you should decide to spend a few moments with it, may it bring to your life an ever-enlarging portion of the joys and blessings that this inexpressibly dear little psalm has brought to me across the 77 years of my life.
