ODE TO ARUGULA
by John T. Baker
There's nothing like arugula Whenever you feel blue - gula; You find the more you chew - gula Life's better with arugula. The merits of arugula Are known to but a few - gula; It's best when fresh and new - gula But anytime will do - gula. It's true you may be picky though And sometimes crave radicchio And on occasion merrily Devour a stalk of celery, Or as a passing hobby May cultivate kohlrabi, But when with those you're through - gula You welcome back arugula. In salad, soup or stew - gula There's nothing like arugula, And since we share that view - gula This poem's just for you - gula. - Guess Who - gula
