WHAT MORE?
by John T. Baker
What more, my dear, do you demand of me? To prove my love what further must I do? How long, how long, will you expect to see These daily miracles performed for you? Are there yet dragons you would have me slay, Enchantments vanquish, tyrants overthrow; A mission to the moon perhaps today, And then tomorrow make your garden grow? Shall I continue to indulge each whim That is your momentary heart's desire? Shall I obediently hum a hymn And genuflect whenever you require? Your wishes are forever my command, But sometimes, dear, they do get out of hand.
