Mad Passion
But fossils are my passion!
They make my life worthwhile.
I don't want clothes of fashion;
or shoes you wear with style…
(While wafting in a perfumed cloud, admirers by the mile.)
I'm happier in baggy
old gear and Aerogard.
You think that I look daggy,
a mess! I guess it's hard…
(I'm wilting under bushflies, rocks and thistles by the yard.)
These fossils let me travel
a world that's fresh and new;
they'll help me to unravel
life's mysteries – well, a few…
(I'm dreaming in a wonderworld, not disenchanted you.)
So let me have my passion,
don't pity me and grin,
I'm happy with my ration
of joys that fossils bring…
(And paddling where the stream of life is just a bubbling spring!)
